Standard mexican place with flavor, nice staff Coming from the north, the idea of Mexican food usually boils down to canned and frozen foods, nuked up and served with copious amounts of cheese and very little depth of flavor. This restaurant is in that same line. The deco is very in your face and very busy. The staff are friendly but sometimes need to get a couple other staff to get the full order in. Food comes out quick and the chips and salsa are pretty standard. The food I got here is very much what one would expect from a place around my home. Giant plates of brown mush, brownish parboiled rice, and greasy fried items. Yet I still rate them a 4 because unlike the places I mentioned before, the flavors here were elevated. The refried beans were stewed with smoky bacon. The rice was boiled with saizon or chicken broth, the tamale was covered in rich brown gravy and velveeta cheese, but the masa was also flavored and the beef was a paste but had spice. The ribeye tacos were cooked a little too long, but they were tender and the salsa verde was spicy but not overpowering. Needed some red onion for contrast, but was a fine bite regardless. The stuffed avocado breading was too thick, but the filling was good. Filling was a little too overpowering for the avocado, and the breading probably needed to be a panko or a tempura breading instead. But the idea was good, just not the execution Despite my gripes, the food here was miles above your typical Mexican fare. It's not so much Tex-mex as it is Mexican food heavily westernized. It's the same junk you get anywhere, but it's a bit tastier if you're from the states. Treat it like the Olive Garden of Mexican food and you'll be happy.

Just went for a margarita before the New kids on the block concert. Service is always good as well as the margaritas! Living in Colorado I miss a good Texas margarita! The restaurant is always clean with great Mexican decor.

As is my practice, sat at the bar and bantered with the friendly Hispanic fellow who promptly brought my order of chunky guacamole and a big ol' Texas sized Dos X' on draft. Ambiance was typical but friendliness extended as I left, thanking me for visiting. So heck, if you ever find yourself thirsty North of Houston, this is a good choice

Had the combination chicken/beef quesadilla. The beef was seasoned so well, it was tender and better than the fajita meat I usually get in a quesadilla. Lunch Service was good, loved the decorations.
